Raphael’s Madonna of the Goldfinch
Thanks to a long restoration, one of Raphael’s most beautiful works is finally presented to the public: Madonna of the Goldfinch. The exhibition “L'amore, l'arte e la grazia. Raffaello, la Madonna del cardellino restaurata” (Love, Art, and Gracefulness. Raphael, Madonna of the Goldfinch Restored), will display this celebrated painting as well as other works of Raphael and his contemporaries at the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in accordance with the Uffizi Gallery until March 1st 2009 - Palazzo Medici Via Cavour 3. Admittance time: Daily from 9 a.m.- 7p.m. except Wednesday (ticket office closes at 6:30 p.m) Entrance: € 7; Reduced Ticket: € 4
Women of Power Caterina and Maria De’ Medici
Continuing until February 8th at the Palazzo Strozzi, is the exhibition dedicated to two great women of the past: two queens whose roles marked history. After their successful exhibition in Paris, a series of majestic tapestries (up to five meters in length) connected to the mythical Artemisia can now be found within the halls of the Palazzo Strozzi. Galileo: Images of the Universe from Antiquity through the Telescope
From March13th to August 30th 2009, the Palazzo Strozzi will be hosting a spectacular exhibition devoted to celebrating the 400th anniversary of Galileo’s extraordinary astronomical discoveries thanks to the telescope. On display will be archaeological finds, works of art (drawings, paintings, and sculptures), incredible scientific instruments, astronomical watches, celestial atlases, precious decorated manuscripts, and rare printed volumes.
Art and Illusion: Masterpieces of “Trompe l’Oeil” from Antiquity to the Present
The exhibition which Palazzo Strozzi dedicates to optical illusion is the second of its kind, but has its own particular merit. The first exhibition of this kind was held at the Washington National Gallery (2003-2003) and was dedicated solely to the display of paintings. The Florence exhibition contains art from many genres and comprises 120 works which include tabletops with deceiving prehensile objects, tableware disguised in various forms, and polychrome sculptures. Donatello’s David restored
Donatello’s restored David can be visited at the Bargello Museum until November 29th 2009. The restoration was done before the eyes of the public in an open site using innovative techniques that were able to reproduce the original chromatic effects of the work which dates back to the year 1400. Admittance time: Monday- Sunday from 8:15a.m. - 1:50p.m. Closed the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday and the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month, December 25th, January 1st, and May 1st. Angelico rediscovered
The exhibition of Angelico rediscovered, Studies and research on the San Marco Altarpiece continuing until 8 March 2009 at Museum of San Marco in Florence. The two paintings of Beato Angelico rediscovered in England and purchased by the Ente Cassa di Risparmio Firenze now exposed for the first time in Italy. This work perhaps commissioned by Cosimo De’Medici is owned by high altar of the Church of San Marco in Florence. The exhibition intend to ricreate virtually the collocations of paintings in the alterpiece.

Art-2009 Crafts Exhibitions In the Fortezza da Basso in Florence returned The International art and crafts exhibition.You’ll find the fair the extended holiday April 25th -may 3rd -2009. Admittance time : from April 25th to May 3 2009. Daily : from 10 a.m. to 11p.m Last day closet at 8p.m. Entrance: € 5.
Taste, Salone del Gusto
Taste start again in “ hall of taste “ from 14 to 16 March, the gourmet food exhibition where it’s possibile to taste and buy appetizing products of gastronomy and cookery books and object for kitchen space. The 4th Edition is one of the most famous event in wine and food. The fair will take place in Leopolda’s station.
Concerning Pitti Immagine and after the fashion by Pitti Uomo (13-16 January 2009) we are glad to invite to collections of Pitti Bimbo (22-24 January) and Pitti Filati (28-30 January), the two importants nationals fairs for persons involved in the work.The three fairs will happen again in June for the summer collections after winter series.
